Your information stays purposeful.

Who we are

Hear4Me is a developing accessibility project creating phone and watch tools for Deaf and hard of hearing people. The Hear4Me project team is responsible for the information collected through this website.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist, we collect your name, email address, consent choice and submission time. When you register preorder interest, we also collect the price option you select: £45, £55 or £65.

Why we use it

We use this information to manage the waitlist, understand likely demand and pricing, and send Hear4Me product or preorder updates only where you actively opt in. A preorder interest registration is not a purchase and we do not collect payment details.

Our lawful basis

We rely on your consent for product and preorder emails. You can withdraw that consent at any time. We use aggregated preorder-price responses for our legitimate interest in planning the product, without using them to make automated decisions about you.

Who receives the information

We do not sell your personal information. Our website hosting, database and security providers process it only to operate and protect this site. Technical security cookies may be set by our hosting provider; we do not use advertising cookies on this site.

App audio, camera and video

The current Hear4Me app processes microphone, camera, caption and sound-prediction data on the device. The website does not receive your recordings, live audio, camera feed or processed videos. If a future release introduces an optional cloud feature, we will explain it clearly and update this policy before collecting that data.

Cookies and analytics

We do not use advertising cookies or behavioural profiling. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary technical cookies and security data to deliver and protect the site.

How long we keep it

We review waitlist and preorder-interest records regularly and keep them only while Hear4Me is in development or while you remain interested in updates. We delete or anonymise records that are no longer needed, and we respond earlier when a valid deletion or consent-withdrawal request applies.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect submitted information. Some service providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we require an appropriate legal safeguard for the transfer.

Your choices and rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete your information, object to or restrict certain uses, or withdraw consent. Every marketing email will provide a way to unsubscribe. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if you believe your information has been mishandled.

Contact

Privacy enquiries and data requests can be sent to privacy@hearforme.org. Please use the same email address you registered so we can identify the correct record.
